Board of Zoning Appeals

Decides variances: an owner’s request to build in a way the zoning rules don’t allow on that lot. It also hears appeals of a zoning official’s decision. These don’t go to the Board of Supervisors.

“The Board of Zoning Appeals was established to hear requests in specific cases of hardships due to the location or physical condition of the property or structures on that property.”

“The Board of Zoning Appeals meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Sheriff's Office conference room located at 195 Judicial Place, Heathsville, VA 22473.”
